Political Correctness Gone Wild!!!

This monster must be stopped.  Rahm Emanuel had to address members of disability groups this afternoon because of his choice of words at a closed meeting last August where he used the term “f###ing retarded.” to refer to members in his own party who were stalling the passing of health care reform.  Sarah Palin and other groups called for his resignation following said remarks.  SHUT UP ALREADY!!!

What I don’t understand is how a group of people can claim a word.  The word “retarded” simply means “to make slow.”  It’s in the dictionary, but somehow it’s offensive because a certain group of people deem it so?

This is like black people claiming exclusive right to the n-word, which simply means a “person who is socially, economically, or politically disenfranchised.”  Sure, the slang derivative is what most people (if said by a non-black person) find offensive.  How can a word that invokes so much anger be used to loosely in black circles?…IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

Same goes for the word midget.  Apparently, this is the n-word for “little people.”  Am I still allowed to say “little people?”  All midget means is “an animal or thing that is small for its kind.”  Once again, it’s an English word in our English dictionary.  Wait, little people are small for their kind, aren’t they?  That’s right.  So, they are midgets.  Midget, midget, MIDGET!!! I feel better now.

Look, I don’t like Rahm Emmanuel at all, but I’m sure he had better things to do than field nonsensical questions.  If people would quit whining about political correctness, we could get a lot more things done in this country.  Maybe we could have fired the Ft. Hood shooter for being a crazy, Islamic nutjob if we weren’t so worried about being insensitive.
